MATTHEW CASTELLANOS is a Mexican-American filmmaker originally from South-Central Los Angeles. His storytelling motto is "Heart first.", as he believes the fastest way to make work unforgettable is to make the viewers feel something in their chest. Matthew has over a decade of experience directing music videos, a background he utilized in his recent partnership with John Legend for the Calm App series Music On My Mind, an exploration of the science behind music. With a focus on emotional storytelling, his work shows the journeys of everyday people exploring new chapters of their lives. Matthew is currently in development for YOSHUA, a fantasy-drama limited series at HBO Max, as well as DISCO INFERNO, a horror feature set in the disco era for Netflix.
